I provide individual therapy and eating disorder treatment for adults and adolescents (16 years+). Sessions with adolescents may include meetings with family to better understand what’s happening at home.

SARAH MOORE

Clinical Psychologist

My approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic theory, which means I’m interested in how our past and present relationships shape who we are and how we feel. I often work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and create more meaningful, fulfilling lives.

I believe effective therapy involves both safety and courage. You need a space where you can feel supported, while also being challenged to explore parts of yourself that feel difficult or unfamiliar.

I also work with adults and adolescents experiencing eating disorders. In my experience, challenges with eating, weight, and body image often reflect deeper emotional concerns. My work focuses on helping people stabilise their eating habits while also exploring the underlying patterns driving those behaviours.

As a therapist, I’m a warm and thoughtful listener who shares insights and observations in a relaxed and supportive environment where there is room for authenticity and humour.

MY APPROACH

Many people come to therapy because they’re struggling with uncomfortable symptoms – anxiety, low mood, poor self-esteem, disordered eating, relationship difficulties, or a general sense of unease. Over time, it often becomes clear that the difficulty isn’t just the symptoms themselves. Instead, symptoms serve as messengers of deeper, unresolved concerns. At its heart, therapy is not only about easing discomfort, but also about wanting more – more understanding, connection, and freedom in how we live.

Psychodynamic therapy is a talking-based treatment that explores how thoughts and feelings outside of our awareness can shape the way we experience ourselves and others. Often, we cope with painful emotions by pushing them out of mind. But, even when hidden, these feelings can continue to influence our mood, behaviour, and relationships.

In our work together, we aim to bring what’s unconscious into awareness – to understand what lies beneath the symptoms and the patterns that keep you stuck. By making sense of these deeper layers, new perspectives and possibilities emerge, allowing for more authentic ways of being and relating.

EATING DISORDER TREATMENT

Brisbane Eating Disorder Treatment

I provide therapy for adults and adolescents experiencing a range of concerns related to eating, body image, and weight, as well as those with diagnosed eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, or Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder.

My approach is person-oriented rather than symptom-focused. I’m interested in understanding you as a whole person, not just your eating difficulties. I view eating disorder behaviours as meaningful attempts to manage deeper emotional struggles. Together, we will work to stabilise your eating, while also exploring the underlying issues that drive and maintain the behaviours. I believe this approach enables long-lasting change to occur.
